ALERT: Rain over Southern Ghana

Volta , Oti , Eastern , Greater Accra , Bono East , Ashanti , Central , Western

A rain cloud has engulfed the southeast of Ghana and is expected to spread to more areas within southern Ghana this afternoon into the evening. The cloud is producing rain of varying intensity within the Volta, Eastern and Greater Accra regions. Separate localised rain clouds have been observed within the Oti, Central, Western and Asanti regions. These clouds are expected to build further and spread to more areas within the aforementioned regions to produce rain with thunder.Occasional windy conditions will also be experienced during the period.

Residents in the affected regions are advised to take precautionary measures ahead of the approaching rains. Avoid outdoor activities during heavy downpours, and stay clear of flooded roads and waterways.
