Be Aware: Thunderstorms Approaching Northeast

A rain and thunder bearing cloud has been observed over the Northeastern border of Ghana, approaching Northern, Northeast and Oti regions. This cloud is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains to the aforementioned regions this afternoon. Occasional windy conditions are expected to accompany the rains. The Northern region (around Yendi, Saboba) are expected to be affected between 3pm and 5pm before spreading to the other parts of the regions.

Motorists should reduce speed, keep headlights on, and exercise caution on flood-prone roads. The public is urged to stay away from trees and weak structures during periods of strong wind, and to monitor official updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency for further guidance as the storm progresses.
