Cloudiness with rain over coastal Ghana

Southern Ghana

Low clouds have engulfed southern Ghana and are expected to persist until dawn tomorrow. These clouds are anticipated to produce rain of varying intensity within coastal Ghana and some inland areas. Occasional thunder strikes will also be experienced during the period. Due to the rains experienced across southern Ghana in the last few days, this is likely to lead to cases of flash flood especially over low lying areas.

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
