Cloudiness with Rain over Coastal Ghana

Coastal Ghana Eastern region

A band of clouds have currently engulfed coastal Ghana. These clouds are expected to persist and produce pockets of rain with occasional thunder strikes within the Volta and Greater Accra regions this afternoon into the evening. The clouds are anticipated to drift to the Central and Western regions later to produce similar conditions. The clouds are also expected to trigger formation of rain clouds within the Eastern region (Odumase, Somanya, Koforidua and surroundings).

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
