Coastal Ghana

A rainstorm currently observed over the Gulf of Guinea is drifting inland toward coastal Ghana and is expected to produce rainfall of varying intensity along the coastline and over some inland areas within the Greater Accra, Central and Western regions. This weather system will bring thunderstorm activity accompanied by occasional gusty winds, affecting Ada Foah, Prampram, Tema, Accra, Saltpond, Cape Coast, Takoradi and surrounding coastal communities during this period.

Residents in coastal areas should seek shelter in sturdy structures, avoid beaches and open waters, and postpone marine activities until the storm passes. Secure loose objects that could be displaced by gusty winds, and stay away from trees, utility poles and flood-prone areas during thunderstorm activity. Those who must travel should exercise extreme caution, particularly on coastal roads where visibility may be significantly reduced.
