Localised Thunderstorms Within the Country

A local development of rain and thunder clouds have been observed within the country. These clouds are expected to develop further and produce rain of varying intensity with thunder within the Upper East (Bongo, Soe, Navrongo, Bolgatangata), Northeast (Gambaga, Nakpanduri, Yunyoo), Upper West (Nadwoli, Gugubelle, Issah, Kaleo), Northern (Tatale, Zabzugu, Bimbilla), Oti (Nkwanta, Dambai, Worawora, Jasikan), Volta (Peki), Eastern (Koforidua, Achiase, Akim Oda), Central (Breman Asikuma, Assin Fosu, Odoben, Nyakrom) and Western (Tarkwa, Peposo, Elubo, Half Assini) regions.

Stay indoors during heavy rainfall and thunderstorms. Secure loose objects outside your home that could be blown away. Avoid open fields, hilltops, and tall isolated trees during thunderstorms. Unplug sensitive electronic equipment if possible. Drive with caution on wet roads and and avoid driving through flooded areas. Monitor local radio and weather updates for developing conditions
