Event Description

Active cloud systems are forming and intensifying across the Volta, Greater Accra, Eastern, Central, Western, Bono, and Savannah regions, bringing rain, thunder, and lightning that are already affecting some areas and continuing to spread. Towns including Dzodze, Akatsi, Agbozume, Aburi, Nsawam, Osino, Nkawkaw, Kade, Madina, Adjen Kotoku, Abura Dunkwa, and Nsuaem are among those directly in the path of these storms, while parts of the Bono (Kintampo, Jema, Tuobodom) and Savannah (Bole, Sawla) regions are also expected to receive rainfall of varying intensity this afternoon as weather systems extend further inland.

Instructions

Residents across all affected regions are advised to stay indoors where possible and avoid open fields, tall trees, and metal structures due to the risk of lightning strikes. Motorists should slow down and avoid flooded or waterlogged roads.
