Moderate Rainstorm approaching northeastern Ghana

A moderate rainstorm over the border of Ghana and Togo is expected to move westwards into the northeastern portion of Ghana. The storm is anticipated to produce rain of varying intensity with thunder within the northern and northeast regions. Gushiegu, Zabzugu, Tatale, Chereponi, Karaga, Tampion, Tamale and surroundings are expected to be affected during from this morning into the early hours of the afternoon.

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities and secure loose items. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
