Morning Rains over Northern Ghana

Low clouds have engulfed the eastern portion of the northern and transition zones. These clouds are expected to produce moderate to heavy rains within the Northern, Northeast, Savannah, Bono East, Bono and Upper West regions. Occasional thunder will also be experienced during the period.

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
