Rain and Thunder over inland areas of coastal Ghana

Rain and thunder clouds building up over the inland areas of coastal Ghana are expected to develop further and produce rain of varying intensity with occasional thunder this afternoon into the evening. Parts of the Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra, Central, and Western regions are expected to experience these conditions.

During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
