RAIN CLOUDS FROM VOLTA REGION APPROACHING GREATER ACCRA REGION

A moderate rain-bearing cloud system currently over volta region is moving towards the southwest and expected to affect the Greater Accra region this evening. Communities including Dodowa, Prampram, Ashaiman, Dawhenya, Tema, Oyarifa, Madina, Pokuase, Afienya, Medie, Amasaman and surrounding areas should prepare for rainfall of varying intensity accompanied by thunder and lightning activity.

Residents in the affected areas should complete outdoor activities and secure loose items. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway.
