Rainstorm Alert for Northern Ghana

Upper East , Northeast , Northern , Upper West , Savannah

A moderate to heavy rainstorm currently tracking from the Togo-Benin border is expected to drift westwards into northern Ghana tonight and into tomorrow's dawn. The Upper East, Northeast and parts of the Northern Region including Bawku, Tempane, Bunkpurugu, Chereponi, Saboba, Yendi, Karaga and surrounding areas will likely experience moderate to heavy rainfall with strong winds beginning tonight. The system will then propagate westwards after midnight, affecting additional areas within these regions as well as parts of the Savannah and Upper West regions.

Residents in affected areas should secure loose objects. Those in eastern parts should prepare immediately, while those in western areas should make preparations before midnight. If possible, disconnect electrical appliances during the storm and keep emergency supplies readily accessible.
