Event description

A rainstorm observed over the border of Ghana and Togo is expected to move westwards to affect coastal Ghana this morning into the afternoon. Rain of varying intensity is expected to be experienced within the Volta, Greater Accra and Eastern regions between late morning and afternoon hours. Aflao, Keta, Dzodze, Anloga, Akatsi, Adidome, Big Ada and surroundings are expected to be affected during the late morning hours. More areas within the Volta, Eastern and Greater Accra regions are expected to be affected during the afternoon hours.

Instructions

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities and secure loose items. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
