Rainstorm tracking over Northern Ghana

A rainstorm has currently engulfed parts of the northern and northeast regions. This storm is expected to spread to more areas within the aforementioned regions and produce moderate to heavy rains. Later this afternoon, the storm is expected to drift to the Savannah and Upper West regions and produce similar conditions within the regions.

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway.
