Squall Line Approaching Northern Ghana
Northern Half
A storm system with intense rainfall and thunderclouds is currently moving from the northeastern border of Ghana and Togo into Ghana, bringing moderate to heavy rains accompanied by thunder and strong winds to the northern regions this afternoon. The Upper East, Northeast, Northern, and parts of the Oti region will be the first areas affected, with conditions expected to expand later in the afternoon and evening to include the Upper West, Savannah, Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo regions, all of which should prepare for similar severe weather conditions.
Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
