Event description

Thunderstorms have developed over parts of the Oti, Ashanti and Eastern regions. These thunder clouds are expected to develop further and spread westward to affect more areas within the aforementioned regions and into parts of the Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions. Abetifi, Nkawkaw, Offinso, Kumasi, Mampong, Jema, Kintampo, Akomadan, and surroundings 5PM and 9 PM. will be affected between Parts of the Savannah, Volta, Central and Western north regions are also expected to experience cases of rain and thunder this afternoon into the evening. Bamboi, Wasipe, Ho, Kpetoe, Assin Fosu, Praso, Enchi and surroundings will be affected between 4:30 PM and 8 PM.

Instructions

Residents in all affected communities are strongly advised to stay indoors and avoid open areas during the event. Motorists should reduce speed, switch on headlights, and exercise extreme caution on roads, as reduced visibility and surface flooding are likely. Parents and guardians are urged to ensure children are safely indoors before the storms arrive. Continue to monitor updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency and your local disaster management authority.
