Thunderstorms across the transition and middle sectors

Thunderstorms buiding up to the east of the country and in parts of the western portion of southern Ghana are expected to develop further and produce rain of varying intensity across the middle and trasition zones. Thunder strikes, lightning flashes and windy conditions are anticipated to accompany the rains. Areas within the Oti, Volta, Bono East, Bono, Ahafo, Eastern, Ashanti, and Western north regions are expected to experince these conditions.

Residents in the affected areas should complete outdoor activities and secure loose items. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway.
