Thunderstorms approaching Oti, Northern, Bono East and Savannah regions

A rain and thunder cloud over the border of Ghana and Togo is moving westward and expected to bring rain of varying intensity into Ghana. Most places within the Oti region as well as parts of the Northern, Bono East and Savannah regions are expected to experience these conditions this afternoon inoto the evening. Jasikan, Worawora, Poase Cement, Nkwanta, Dambai, Kpassa, Sibi, Zabzugu, Tatale and surroundings are expected to be affected before drifting to Bimbilla, Kpandai, Chinderi, Kajaji, Atebubu, Kintampo, Salaga, Kpalbe, Yendi and surroundings.

Residents in the affected areas should complete outdoor activities and secure loose items. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway.
