Thunderstorms approaching upper regions

A rainstorm is observed over southeastern Burkina Faso and moving towards northern Ghana. The storm is expected to bring moderate to heavy rains with thunder and occasional windy conditions to the Upper East, Northeast, Upper West and Northern regions. Separate development of thunder and rain clouds have been seen ahead of the storm over Gwollu and surroundings. This is expected to produce thunderstorms within the Upper West before the arrival of the storm.

Residents in this region should avoid outdoor activities in the evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
