Thunderstorms over Northern Ghana

Upper East , Upper West , Northern East , Northern , Savannah

A band of rain and thunder clouds observed over the eastern portion of Ghana is expected to continue producing rain and thunder over the Upper East and Northeast regions. The clouds are anticipated to move westwards and spread to affect the Northern, Savannah, and Upper West regions this afternoon.

Postpone or cancel outdoor activities and events until the storm has passed. If you are caught outside, seek shelter in a substantial building or a hard-topped vehicle. Unplug electrical appliances and avoid using corded phones during the storm to prevent electrical shock. If driving, reduce speed and turn on headlights. Be aware of potential flooding on roads. Avoid driving through flooded areas.
