Event Description
A moderate rain and thunder bearing cloud currently over parts of northern Ghana are expected to spread to more areas within the northwest. Parts of the Upper West, Savannah, Bono, Ahafo and Ashanti regions are expected to experince rain of varying intensity this morning. Ejura, Atebubu, Nkoranza, Akomadan, Seikwa, Sunyani, Kintampo, Banda Ahenkro, Damongo, Sawla, Bole, Larabanga, Yala, Wechiau, Wa, Funsi, Kaleo and surroundings will be affected.
Instructions
Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
