A rainstorm currently over the Eastern region is expected to spread to more areas and produce moderate to heavy rains with thunder this evening. The storm is expected to spread to parts of the Ashanti, Central, Western north and Western regions within the next 2 hours. New Abirem, Nkawkaw, Akwatia, Ofoase, Akim Oda, New Edubiase, Obuasi, Asante Bekwai, Adansi, Konongo, Ejisu, Kumasi, Jacobu, Manso Mkwanta, Sefwi Wiawso, Sefwi Bekwai, Dadieso, Juaboso and surroundings are expected to be affected.

Residents in the affected areas should avoid outdoor activities. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately and never take refuge under trees during lightning activity. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
