A rainstorm currently positioned over northern Benin is tracking westward and advancing into the country, bringing the potential for heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds across the northern sector tonight and into the early morning hours. The Upper East, North East, and Northern regions are expected to bear the initial impact of the storm, with conditions anticipated to set in between 9:00 PM tonight and 1:00 AM tomorrow, while the Upper West and Savannah regions are subsequently expected to be affected from 10:00 PM onwards. Separately, another storm is already underway over the Upper West Region, with active rainfall currently being experienced around Hamile, Tumu, and Jirapa.
Residents in the affected regions are advised to take precautionary measures ahead of the approaching rains. Avoid outdoor activities during heavy downpours, and stay clear of flooded roads and waterways.
