Weather Alert: A Band of Thunder and Rain Clouds Approaching Northern Ghana

Series of thunder and rain-bearing clouds are approaching the eastern portions of the northern sector (Upper East, North East, Northern Region) from Benin and Togo. These thunder and rain-bearing clouds are expected to commence producing thunderstorms and rain of varying intensities over the east before drifting towards the west (Upper West and Savannah) from 1:55 am into the dawn and morning hours.

Residents and motorists in the affected regions are advised to stay alert to changing weather conditions throughout the night. Motorists should reduce speed, keep fog and headlights on, and exercise caution on flood-prone roads. The public is also urged to stay away from trees and weak structures during periods of strong wind, and to monitor official updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency for further guidance as the storm progresses.
