Weather Alert: Localised Rainfall within Southern Ghana

Volta, Eastern, Central, Western

Localised formation of rain and thunder clouds have been observed over areas within the Volta, Eastern, Central and Western regions. These clouds are expected to develop further and produce rain of varying intensity within the regions mentioned earlier. Dzodze, Ziope, Mafi Kumase, Akuse, Akropong, Assin Manso, Breman Asikuma, Assin Fosu, Twifo Praso, Ateiku, Tarkwa and surroundings are expected to experience short duration rain with thunder between now and 5 PM.

During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
