Weather Alert: Rainstorm Approaching Ghana

A moderate to heavy rainstorm has been observed within Togo stretching from the south to north. The storm moving westwards and is expected to bring rainfall of varying intensity to the more areas within the country especially within the Northern and Middle sectors. Ahead of the storm, there are rain and thunder clouds already developed within the northern and northeast regions. Volta, Oti, Bono East, Northern, Upper East and Northeast regions will be affected this evening before shifting to the west to affect the Savannah, Upper West, Ashanti, Bono, Ahafo, and Western North regions.

Residents within in these regions should avoid outdoor activities this evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
