Weather Alert: Rainstorm over the Middle, Transition and the North

Upper East , Northern East , Northern , Oti , Hohoe, ho, Kpando and Surrounding areas.

A moderate to heavy rainstorm has been sighted over the northern half of Benin into Togo. It is expected that the rainstorm will propagate westwards to affect places in the north, transition and middle belts this evening and into the night hours with varying intensities of thunderstorms and rain. However the rainstorm has triggered thunder clouds over the eastern portions of the middle sector currently which are expected to produce moderate thunderstorms with rain. Some areas are likely to experience moderate to strong winds.

Residents in these regions are advised to take necessary precautions, including seeking shelter indoors during periods of heavy rain and lightning, avoiding open fields and standing under isolated trees, and unplugging electrical appliances where possible to prevent damage from lightning strikes. Motorists should exercise caution on the roads due to poor visibility and slippery conditions.
