Weather Alert: Thunderstorms approaching Northern sector

A moderate rainstorm has been observed from northern Togo approaching the northern portion of Ghana. This rainstorm is expected to bring rainfall of varying intensity to the Northern, Northeast and Upper East. Chereponi, Yunyoo, Bunkprugu, Tempane, Binduri, Saboba, Tatale and surroundings are expected to be affected within the next hour. The rest of the regions are expected to experience similar conditions between 11 PM and 2 PM.

Residents in these regions should avoid outdoor activities this evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
