Weather Alert: Thunderstorms approaching Transition and Northern sectors

A moderate rainstorm has engulfed the Oti and parts of the Bono East, Savannah and Northern regions. Yendi, Bimbillahsity. The storm is expected to spread to more areas within these regions is afternoon. Atebubu, Kintampo, Tamale, Savelugu, Buipe, Larabanga, Gushiegu, Karaga and environs are expected to be affected within the next 2 hours. The western side of the Savannah region and parts of the Upper West abd Bono regions are also expected to be affected by similar conditions between 2 PM and 6 PM.

Residents in these regions should avoid outdoor activities this evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
