Weather Alert: Thunderstorms approaching upper regions

Upper East Northeast Upper West

Rain and thunder clouds have engulfed parts of the upper east region. These clouds are expected to spread to more areas within the region and to parts of the northeast and upper west regions. Moderate to heavy rain with thunder is expected to be experienced within these regions. The upper east and northeast regions will be affected between 5PM and 7PM. Within the upper west, the storm is expected to make impact between 6PM and 9PM.

Residents in these regions should avoid outdoor activities this evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
