Weather Alert: Thunderstorms Developing over Northern Ghana

Pockets of rain and thunder clouds observed within the northern sector are expected to expand and spread to more areas within the northern sector. Bawku, Binduri, Tempane, Bunkpurugu, Nakpanduri, Zebilla, Bongo, Soe, Paga, Pina, Tumu, Jirapa, Jeffisi, Han, Lawra, Hamile, Nadowli, Saboba, Kpatinga and surroundings are expected to exoerience rain of varying intensity with thunder this evening.

Residents in these regions should avoid outdoor activities this evening. During the thunderstorm, stay indoors and away from windows, unplug electrical appliances to prevent damage from lightning strikes, and avoid using corded phones or electrical devices connected to outlets. If caught outdoors, seek substantial shelter immediately. Drivers should exercise extreme caution by reducing speed, using headlights for visibility, and avoiding flooded sections of roadway
