2Nd Media Training & Stakeholder Engagement On Voltalarm System Takes Place In Ho, Volta Region.

The Ghana Meteorological Agency, Water Resources Commission, and the Ghana Hydrological Authority have collaborated to organize the Second Training Session for Media Practitioners and Stakeholders on the Voltalarm System.

The training at the Stevens Hotel in Volta Regional Capital, Ho exposed participants to the Voltalarm products and Risk Profile of the Volta Basin, interpretation of Meteorological and hydrological bulletins, and Seasonal to sub-seasonal products.

Participants shared perspectives on effective forecast dissemination and operational challenges along the Volta Lake.

Participants got the opportunity to try hands-on exercises on draft multi-hazard bulletins and public weather forecast products.

The dignitaries present were the Ag. Director-General of the Ghana Meteorological Agency, Mr. Eric Asuman, and officials of the Volta River Authority, Ghana Maritime Authority, and the Volta Lake Transport Company.

The final training series is scheduled for the 7th to 9th March 2024 at the Miklin Hotel in Accra.
