Ag. Director-General Of GMet Opens DNS Training For Tertiary Institutions In Accra

The Ag. Director-General of the Ghana Meteorological Agency, Mr. Eric Asuman on Monday, 29th April, 2024 opened a training programme organized for selected tertiary institutions by the Ghana Domain Name Registry under the auspices of the Ministry of Communications and Digitalization.
The three-day event that the Blucrest University College hosts aims to enhance DNS knowledge and implementation among students in tertiary institutions with a special focus on understanding the internet, domain names and their uses.
The Director-General of the Ghana Meteorological Agency Mr Eric Asuman commended the GDNR for their commitment to training future generations on the importance of the Internet.
He demonstrated GMet’s dedication and commitment to cybersecurity and digital evolution through the Ghana Meteorological Agency’s transition from .com to .gh domains.
He highlighted the Internet's critical role in delivering timely information and its relevance in ensuring that the World Meteorological Organization’s (WMO) Early Warning for All initiative is achieved.
A total of 150 students representing the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Bluecrest University College, and the Ghana Communication Technology University are participating in the workshop.
