Dr. Eric Asuman Urges Meteorological Technicians to Prioritize National Interest

The Acting Director-General of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet), Dr. Eric Asuman, has charged Chief and Principal Meteorological Technicians to be patriotic about their work, emphasizing that their role is crucial to the nation's development.
Speaking at the opening of a 3-day Refresher and Compliance training for the technicians, Dr. Asuman stressed that accurate and timely weather forecasts are essential for national planning, economic growth, and public safety.
"As Meteorological Technicians, your work is unique and extends far beyond data collection and transmission; it has a direct impact on saving lives, protecting property, and driving economic growth."
The training, which aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of the technicians, covers topics such as Human Resource Management Practices in the Public Service, Meteorological Observation and Coding, Meteorological Reporting and Instrumentation, Financial Reporting, Audit Procedures, Performance Management, Electronic DR and Quality Management Systems.
As the trainees embark on this professional development journey, Dr. Asuman's words serve as a reminder of the critical role they play in shaping the nation's future.
