Ghana Meteorological Agency Takes Maritime and Inland Water Safety Education to Kpando Torkor

On Wednesday 17th July 2024, the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) continued its community outreach tour, educating fisherfolk in Kpando Torkor on Maritime and Inland Water Safety.
Following successful engagements in Mepe and Ada, the team brought their expertise to Kpando Torkor, empowering local fisherfolk with vital knowledge on:
- Weather forecasting and warning signs
- Safe navigation and emergency procedures
- Forecast Verification
- Approved Dissemination Channels
The Kpando Torkor community welcomed the initiative, actively participating in interactive sessions and demonstrating a strong commitment to adopting safety best practices.
The team will continue their tour, visiting additional towns along the Volta Lake, promoting maritime and inland water safety, and empowering fisherfolk with the knowledge to ensure their well-being.
