GMet Engages Ga Mantse on 2025 Seasonal Forecast

As part of activities marking Meteorological Awareness Month (MAM) 2025, the Management of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) paid a courtesy call on the Ga Mantse, Nii Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, on Wednesday, 19th March 2025. The engagement was to share the 2025 seasonal forecast with the Ga Traditional Council and explore avenues for deeper collaboration with traditional leadership in promoting community preparedness and response.
Recognizing the influence of traditional authorities in shaping public behavior and mobilizing grassroots action, GMet emphasized the need for chiefs and elders to play an active role in disseminating weather-related information and encouraging adherence to early warnings. The Ga Mantse pledged the Council’s full support and stressed the importance of incorporating climate and weather awareness into community conversations, especially in flood-prone areas of the Greater Accra Region.
This strategic interaction reflects GMet’s commitment to building local alliances that strengthen resilience and ensure that early warning messages reach every household—not just as information, but as a call to act.
