The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) on Thursday, 16th October 2025, organised a health and safety training programme for staff at its headquarters in Accra. The session was facilitated by Gibson Safety Consult and focused on improving workplace safety and emergency response.

The Director-General of GMet, Dr Eric Asuman, urged participants to take the training seriously, understand the lessons, and serve as focal persons in their respective offices to provide first aid when necessary and contribute to building the organisation.

The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills in casualty assessment, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), chest compressions, mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, recovery positioning, and the treatment of bleeding injuries.

The exercise formed part of GMet’s efforts to enhance staff preparedness and ensure a safer working environment across all its operational areas.
