GMet Hosts IWMI Delegation for Preliminary Partnership Talks

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) welcomed a delegation from the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) for a preliminary meeting aimed at exploring areas of collaboration between the two institutions.

The engagement provided a platform to identify common goals and foster partnerships that align with Ghana’s broader climate resilience and sustainable development objectives.

Discussions focused on strengthening research, developing joint projects, and deepening collaboration in thematic areas such as climate, agriculture, and water-related disasters. Both parties also explored opportunities for enhancing impact-based forecasting, improving water and food systems, and supporting policy decision-making through climate projections.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to build on the discussions and shape actionable plans that promote effective climate risk management and sustainable resource use.
