Gmet Joins Rest Of The World To Introduce Weather Kids Initiative

On Thursday, 21st March 2024 the Ghana Meteorological Agency joined the rest of the world to mark the 2024 World Meteorological Day – with a special focus on the Weather Kids Global Campaign.

The Weather Kids initiative is a global campaign introduced by the World Meteorological Organization and the UNDP to give a voice to young people most vulnerable to climate change.

At the main forum organized at the Headquarters of the GMet, students from Pentecost Preparatory School, Grace Preparatory School, PRESEC Staff Basic School, Seventh Day Adventist School and Evangelical Presbyterian School demonstrated their knowledge and understanding of climate change through poetry, drama, drum appellations, and choreography.

Before the main forum selected students presented the morning weather forecast on National Media houses including Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, 3FM, Homebase TV, Kantanka TV and Radio Universe.
