My Flood Risk Accra App
The Minister for Communications and Digitalisation of Ghana launched the ‘My Flood Risk Accra’ App, developed by HKV. The app informs citizens of Accra clearly and intuitively about flooding and its potential consequences. As a result, citizens are better prepared in the event of flooding and its impact is reduced.

Objectives
To prepare the ground for implementing risk transfer solutions within an integrated flood risk management approach.
Expected Outcome
- Understand and quantify flood risks in Ga West, Ga East and Accra Metropolitan Assembly area
- Reduce and improve risk management to all stakeholders
- Develop insurance solutions that allow assemblies to transfer their residual risk
- Understand the complexity and develop first best practices for urban resilience e.g. a flood risk app
