The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) is a state institution with the mandate to provide accurate and reliable weather and climate services for the socio-economic development of Ghana. The Agency was established by Act 682 of 2004 and amended by Act 1002 of September 2019. The objective of the Agency is to provide meteorological services and ensure the operation and maintenance of international standards and practices in meteorology in the country. In the year 2024, the GMet focused on furthering its strategic objectives including disaster prevention and mitigation, develop human resource capacity, enhance infrastructure, improve service delivery, improve revenue generation, promote research and advocacy.
