WARNING: Rainstorm within southern Ghana

The rainstorm previously reported has now entered the country, expanded significantly, and is currently producing rain of varying intensity across the Volta, Greater Accra, Eastern, Western North, and Ashanti regions, with parts of the Central and Western regions already experiencing its effects. The storm is expected to continue expanding, bringing moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by gusty winds to more areas tonight, particularly Kasoa, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, Tarkwa, and surrounding communities, with a significant risk of flash flooding across the affected regions.

Residents within the affected and surrounding areas are strongly urged to seek safe shelter immediately, avoid driving or walking through waterlogged roads and flood-prone zones, stay away from tall trees, power lines, and metal structures during the storm, and secure loose outdoor items that may be carried by gusty winds. Residents are encouraged to remain alert for further updates from the Ghana Meteorological Agency.
