Ghana Meteorological Agency Continues Educational Outreach in Abotoase, Pays Homage to Paramount Chief

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) on Thursday, 18th July, 2024, continued its community outreach tour, educating fisherfolk in Abotoase on Maritime and Inland Water Safety.
The team provided interactive sessions and practical training on:
- Weather forecasting and warning signs
- Safe navigation and emergency procedures
- Forecast Verification
- Approved Dissemination Channels
The GMet team paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of Tapa-Abotoase, Okofrobour Baffour Kwame Asante II, paying homage to his leadership and wisdom. The Chief expressed his appreciation for the agency's efforts in promoting maritime safety and pledged his support for the initiative.
The Abotoase community welcomed the initiative, actively participating in the sessions and demonstrating a strong commitment to adopting safety best practices and adhering to the Forecast.
The team will continue their tour, visiting additional towns along the Volta Lake, promoting maritime and inland water safety, and empowering fisherfolk with the knowledge to ensure their well-being.
