Ghana Meteorological Agency Holds Staff Durbar to Review First Quarter Performance

The Management of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has held a staff durbar at its headquarters in Accra on Friday, April 25, 2025, to engage staff, review the Agency’s first-quarter performance, and outline strategic priorities for the year.
The durbar brought together staff from the Headquarters, the Kotoka International Airport Meteorological Office (KIAMO), and the Tema office. It served as a platform to reflect on key milestones, discuss operational challenges, and address staff-related concerns in an open and participatory forum.
In his opening remarks, the Director-General, Dr. Eric Asuman emphasized the value of teamwork and open dialogue in fostering progress and innovation within the Agency. He lauded staff for their commitment even in the face of limited resources and shifting operational demands.
Key highlights of the session included discussions on leadership, infrastructure, and progress made toward achieving autonomy.
Updates were also shared on the clearance of issues surrounding the recruitment of new staff after December 7 and the matters related to the expansion of GMet’s products and services.
The durbar also delved into human resource development, capacity building initiatives, the adoption of a new scheme of service, and efforts to finalize the development of a conditions of service for the Agency.
Staff concerns were heard and addressed, with management pledging to maintain ongoing dialogue and take actionable steps where necessary.
The event ended with a passionate appeal from the Director-General, urging all staff to stand in unity and remain focused as they work collectively to move the Agency toward a more desirable and impactful future.
