Regional, District and Unit Heads of GMet Participate in Compliance Training

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has organized a three-day Compliance Training for Regional, District and Unit Heads of the Agency across the country. The training was held from the 25th to the 27th of January 2024 at the Ange Hill Hotel in East Legon. The primary objective of the training was to equip the trainees with the necessary tools for innovation, accountability, and transparency.
The compliance training covered areas including introducing the Public Financial Management Act, the Human Resource Management policy framework, and the manual for the Ghana Public Service, financial reporting, performance management, management of records, and procurement procedures.
In his initial address, the Ag. Director-General of the Agency, Mr. Eric Asuman, emphasized that the training would equip the participants with the necessary knowledge of how to go about their daily activities to ensure transparency and accountability. The Agency's increased relevance and collaboration with local and international entities have made it necessary for staff in leadership positions to step up to the plate and ensure that things are done correctly.
The training was a first-of-a-kind initiative by the Agency and was received positively by all the participants. Overall, it is expected that the knowledge gained by the participants will undoubtedly help achieve the Agency’s transparency and accountability goals.
