AUGUST 2026 RAINFALL FORECAST

Rainfall during the August 2026 forecast period is expected to be normal to above normal in the northern portions of the country, with a few areas in the southern part likely to experience normal to below normal conditions. Figure 1(a) shows the rainfall climatology (1991-2020) for August. Figure 1(b) displays the spatial distribution of the expected total rainfall for August 2026. Figure 1(c) shows the August 2026 rainfall probabilities (or percent chances) for each of the three categories: above normal, normal, and below normal.
