Northern Ghana is expected to experience predominantly near-normal to above-normal rainfall during ASO 2026. The highest likelihood of above-normal rainfall is expected over the Upper East and parts of the North-East Regions. August is projected to be the wettest month, with rainfall gradually decreasing in September. Seasonal rainfall cessation is expected from late September to October across most northern districts. Despite a strengthening El Niño, the active West African Monsoon and warmer tropical Atlantic are expected to support favourable rainfall conditions.
