Seasonal Forecast SON 2026

The onset of the minor rainy season is expected to be late to normal across most of southern Ghana, with most places in the transition zones and southern parts of the Western North region experiencing an early to normal onset. The Transition Zone is forecast to see onset mainly between the second week of August and the first week of September, while the Forest Zone is expected to see onset between the fourth week of August and the second week of September. Along the East Coast, onset is generally expected between the second and fourth weeks of September
